Background
The meeting is being organised under the auspices of the Critical Ecosystem Partnership Fund (CEPF) which works with teams of regional and international scientists and representatives from local communities to conduct a comprehensive review of biological, social and economic data about the region and gather information on threats, policies and current investment. The Eastern Afromontane hotspot covers 16 countries: Malawi, Zimbabwe, Mozambique, Zambia, Rwanda, Burundi, Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC), Uganda, Kenya, Tanzania, Ethiopia, Sudan, Eritrea, Somalia, Yemen and Saudi Arabia.
